Asset It Privacy Policy

1. Overview

Asset It is a privacy-first wealth and budget tracker. Your financial data is stored locally on your device and is never sent to our servers. We do not operate any servers or databases that store your personal or financial information. This policy explains what data the app handles and what limited information may be shared with third-party services.

2. Local Data Storage

All your assets, liabilities, financial records, salary data, and settings are stored exclusively on your device using an encrypted SQLite database. This data is completely isolated and private. We have no ability to access, read, or retrieve it.

3. Market Data Requests

To provide live exchange rates, gold prices, and stock prices, the app sends requests to third-party financial data providers. These requests include only the currency code, stock symbol, or asset identifier needed to fetch the price. No personal information, device identifiers, or user accounts are included in these requests.

Providers include:

  • Google Finance
  • Yahoo Finance
  • FloatRates
  • ExchangeRate API
  • Mubasher
  • eDahab
  • jsDelivr CDN

4. Optional Account & Authentication (Supabase)

You may optionally create an account to enable cloud features. If you do, the following data is sent to our authentication provider (Supabase):

  • Email address and password (encrypted in transit)
  • Profile information you provide (display name, gender, birthday, phone number)
  • Authentication tokens for session management

This data is processed by Supabase under their privacy policy. You can use Asset It fully without creating an account.

5. iCloud Sync (iOS Only)

If you enable iCloud sync on iOS, your data is encrypted and stored in your personal iCloud account. This data:

  • Is encrypted using AES-256 before leaving your device
  • Is stored in YOUR iCloud storage, not our servers
  • Is never accessible to us or any third party
  • Can be disabled at any time in Settings

6. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The free version displays ads served by Google AdMob. Google may collect the following for ad personalization and measurement:

  • Device advertising identifier
  • IP address
  • General device information
  • Ad interaction data

This data is governed by Google's privacy policy. The app participates in Apple's SKAdNetwork for aggregated ad attribution. You can permanently remove all ads and associated data collection by purchasing the "Remove Ads" in-app purchase.

7. In-App Purchases

Purchase transactions are processed entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We do not receive or store your payment information. We only receive confirmation of whether the purchase was completed.

8. Feedback & Support

If you submit a help request, bug report, or app rating through the in-app forms, the information you provide (name, subject, description, rating) is sent to Google Forms. This submission is voluntary and contains only the data you choose to enter.

9. Favicon Service

When displaying asset entries with associated websites, the app may request website icons from Google's favicon service. This sends the website domain name to Google. No personal data is included.

10. No Tracking or Analytics

We do not use any analytics, crash reporting, or telemetry services. No Firebase Analytics, no Crashlytics, no Sentry, no third-party tracking SDKs. Your usage behavior within the app is not monitored or recorded by us.

11. Biometric Authentication

If you enable Face ID, Touch ID, or fingerprint authentication, all biometric processing is handled entirely by your device's operating system. The app never accesses, stores, or transmits raw biometric data. If you enable biometric login, your account credentials are stored in the device's secure keychain (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore).

12. Encrypted Backup Files

When you export a backup:

  • The file is encrypted using AES-256-GCM with PBKDF2 key derivation and HMAC-SHA256 integrity verification
  • The encrypted file is saved to the location you choose
  • We never receive, access, or store your backup files
  • You are responsible for securing your backup files

13. Data Stored on Device

The app stores the following locally:

  • SQLite database: assets, finances, salaries, currency choices, user profile
  • Secure storage (OS keychain): authentication tokens and biometric credentials
  • Shared preferences: app settings, theme, language, sync preferences

None of this data is transmitted to us.

14. Your Rights

  • You have complete control over your data at all times
  • You can export all your data via encrypted backup
  • You can delete all data from Settings or by uninstalling the app
  • If you created an account, you can request deletion by contacting us
  • No data remains on our systems after deletion (we have no systems storing your data)

15. Children's Privacy

Asset It is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

16. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date and communicated through app updates.
